We just spent three days in Marseille, soaking up a much warmer summer than London. The agenda? A boat ride, swimming, celebrating Valerie’s thirstiest birthday, and giving Chiara a little practice run before our trip to Greece. We were hoping it would be her first dip in the Mediterranean, but at 19 degrees, it was a bit too chilly for her. Plan B? The Jacuzzi, with a much more comfortable 30 degrees—and she loved it!

Canon EOS 5D Mk II – 1/1250 sec at f/4.5, ISO 100 – A small fishing boat passing between us and the castle of “If” on our way back from the island of the “Frioul” to Marseille. Picture was cropped.
We had a blast taking pictures in the garden, trying to capture Chiara’s smiles while dancing and singing “Petrouchka,” her favorite song. It was the perfect way to wrap up our trip. It took Chiara about a day to adjust to the warmer weather, but once she did, she was back to smiling and sleeping like a champ!

Canon EOS 5D Mk II – 1/640 sec at f/2.8, ISO 500 – Sab and Chiara jumping, dancing and singing in the garden in Marseille, late afternoon. We had a few dozen of those pictures, so we tried to pick up the most perfect smile of the bunch. Picture was processed in Lightroom and given a light Holga effect.
